Attorney Josh Timmons

Josh Timmons is the managing attorney and founder of J. Timmons Law, LLC, and he is licensed to practice in the State of Indiana.  Josh works with clients throughout central Indiana, but primarily works in the Indianapolis area and surrounding counties.

Prior to starting his firm, Josh built a wealth of experience working in state government as an administrative litigator and advisor.

Josh worked for several years at the Indiana Office of the Attorney General. During law school, Josh worked as a Certified Legal Intern and Graduate Legal Intern.  He developed research materials analyzing the state’s laws concerning nursing homes and the programs assisting homeowners during the foreclosure crisis.  After passing the bar exam, Josh was promoted to Deputy Attorney General in the Licensing Enforcement and Homeowner Protection Unit.  In this role, he investigated and litigated hundreds of licensure complaints against various health practitioners:  doctors, nurses, dentists, and pharmacists.

Josh worked for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration as a Staff Attorney focusing on various issues affecting child care.  He litigated complaints against day care licensees and benefit recipients.  He also served as primary legal advisor for First Steps Early Intervention Services and “On My Way,” the new Indiana Pre-K program.

Prior to law school, Josh lived and worked overseas from 2002-2008.  During this time he taught English in Prague, South Korea, and Japan, and travelled to over 30 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Josh is a proud faculty member at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in the Department of Communications, where he enjoys teaching public speaking.  He is also a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Japan-America Society of Indiana.
